Jim Bovin has 28 years of professional experience providing photography services and consultation. His career began as a daily newspaper photojournalist and then evolved to be focused on providing photography services to children’s hospitals and non-profits supporting families with seriously ill children. Since 2010, Jim has worked closely with the Child Life Department at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. He supports the Child Life Department by providing photography for milestones and medical procedures. Children’s Hospitals and Clinic of Minnesota working with the Chaplain and Social Work Departments. Ronald McDonald House-Upper Midwest, Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Crescent Cove Respite and Hospice Home for Children, University of Minnesota Family Medicine and Community Health. Jim has won several Associated Press awards for his photography and is also a service award recipient from the Ronald McDonald House Charities-Upper Midwest. Jim also extends his freelance services to daily newspapers, advertising and PR agencies within the Minneapolis-St Paul region.
His start in newspapers has allowed him to bring a quality of work clients have valued. He brings a strong work ethic with an emphasis on deadlines that only a newspaper history can bring. Jim is a member of the National Press Photographers Association.
